Tour Overview

Tawang, tucked in Arunachal's far west at 10,000 ft, is home to India's largest monastery and some of the Himalaya's most dramatic drives. This 8-day expedition climbs over the 13,700-ft Sela Pass to a world of high lakes, waterfalls and Monpa culture.

We handle the Inner Line Permits, mountain-grade vehicles and carefully paced acclimatisation so you can simply take in Bomdila, Dirang, Sela, Tawang Monastery and the poignant war memorial.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — Indian travellers need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Arunachal Pradesh, which we arrange as part of your package.

March to October is best. High passes like Sela can close with heavy winter snow, so we plan around conditions.

The drive crosses high mountain passes and can be long. We use experienced drivers and mountain-grade vehicles, and pace the itinerary for comfort and acclimatisation.

Tawang sits at around 10,000 ft and Sela Pass at 13,700 ft. We build in gradual acclimatisation; travellers with health concerns should consult a doctor before the trip.
